Amgen – Thousand Oaks, CA                                                                           2019 to present

Creative Director/Lead Visual Storyteller

Partnering with commercial, research & development, and operations, responsible for establishing content that articulates Amgen’s brand strategy and deepens the connection between Amgen and its audience.

Highlights include:

  • Responsible for hiring and mentoring the in-house creative team, developing content from concept through production.

  • Manage external agencies in the strategic development of content for both internal and external digital campaigns.

  • Supervised visual development for Amgen’s brand refresh, creating a more modern, digital-first attitude. Led development of new brand guidelines.

  • Designed, budgeted and supervised the creation of Amgen’s first Digital Production Studio, a $6M, state-of-the-art sound stage on Amgen’s Thousand Oaks campus.

  • Directed Amgen’s corporate video library update, traveling to each site globally to capture more inclusive, diverse, and cinematic footage.

  • Concepted and created campaign for Amgen Foundation and Food Share, a local food bank. These videos won multiple marketing industry awards.

  • Working with the social media director, developed strategy for visual content on Amgen’s LinkedIn and Instagram sites, increasing user engagement and connection.

  • Work directly with CEO staff to ensure alignment with business priorities.

  • Filmed live-action interviews with financial experts, creating unique opportunities to share knowledge and insight.

Bloomberg, LP – New York, NY                                                                 2009 to 2016

Creative Director

Managed creative teams and collaborated with sales department to produce brand strategies and multimedia marketing solutions for global advertising. Wrote and directed television commercials for major client campaigns. Managed domestic client relations, pitching and winning new business. Hired and managed creative team, including supervising outside vendors and union talent.

​Highlights include:

  • Developed and implemented marketing plans for Zurich North America and Zurich Global which resulted in $4.5M revenue increase.

  • Pitched and won 2017 Porsche 911 Relaunch Campaign. Conceptualized, storyboarded, and directed commercial production that included shooting at Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama, implementing VR, aerial work, and live radio broadcast from the track. Supervised postproduction delivery of multiple assets. 

  • Hired and mentored motion graphic designers and editors.

  • Served as liaison between clients and creative team to ensure finished product met clients' creative and business goals.

  • Created and produced multi-tiered campaign for Glenmorangie Distillery that included long format content, promos, and social media content.

  • Created and directed television commercials and digital ads for Samsung, Fidelity, ATT, Siemens, Interactive Brokers, Cadillac, UBS, UPS, and USPS, representing over $65M in advertising revenue each year (this represented a 400% growth from 2013-2016).

FOX Sports – Los Angeles, CA                                                            1999 to 2009

Art Director / Senior Designer

Designed comprehensive televised sports graphics, including complete show packages, show opens and co-branded commercial spots. Led and mentored creative and technical team of artists and engineers, both in-house and outside agencies. Organized creative resources and scheduled workflow in an environment with rapidly changing priorities.

Highlights include:

  • Designed and created NFL on FOX Robot (Cleatus).

  • Conceptualized and supervised production of graphics for NFL on FOX and co-branded opening segments.

  • Developed Viz integration into graphics workflow.

  • Supervised co-branded campaigns for Transformers movie, Marley and Me movie and Burger King.

  • Directed 22 billboards for NFL on FOX, using live-action, green-screen, and motion capture.

  • Directed co-branded promotional spots for Ford promoting the new F150 on FOX Sports.

  • Worked with executive committee to manage $3.2M department budget.

  • Designed and animated award-winning sports promo spots for marketing department, including campaigns for NASCAR, MLB and NFL.
